Thank You from the Food Bank Network

The Food Bank Network of Somerset County offers our sincere thanks and appreciation for the extremely generous donation in the amount of $3,157 received in July. We are honored to have been chosen by St. Mary’s Parish to be the beneficiary of these special offerings made in memory of deceased mothers and fathers. This gift will make an immediate impact in the community by helping The Food Bank purchase much-needed food items for distribution. The on-going support of St. Mary’s Parish and your Knights of Columbus has significantly helped The Food Bank continue to provide essential food assistance at no cost to any county resident in need. Our Back Pack Program, operational since 2009, provides supplemental weekend take-home meals for Somerset County’s elementary students who meet federal eligibility requirements to receive free meals. During the 2023-2024 school year, The Food Bank supplied Back Pack food packages for 37 weeks of the school year to 1,250 students attending 25 schools. A total of 46,250 bags were distributed. Thank you again for what St. Mary’s Parish and your Knights of Columbus have done to benefit the lives of others.
