Following Christ: Started on January 11, 2022Following Christ -- a seven-week journey to grow in your faith. Enjoy a time of prayer, video teaching, and small table conversation while joining others in a spiritual exploration of how to grow in a deeper living relationship with Jesus Christ."Following Christ", the follow-up series to "Discovering Christ", began at St. Mary - Stony Hill on Tuesday, 01/11/2022.
Our first topic of discussion and meditation was, "Daily Personal Prayer". During this session, we discovered several elements to prayer, we examined how we can establish a fruitful prayer life, and we were inspired and motivated to learn that our relationship with God can only be strengthened through daily personal prayer.
What is God saying to You? Our second “Following Christ” session this past Tuesday, “Hearing God in Scripture”, focused on how Scripture reading is vital to building our relationship with God. We discovered 3 truths to God’s word. God’s word is personal; God’s word is powerful: God’s word prunes us. Lord Jesus, please help us to read Your word with the expectation that Your will and plan for us will be revealed. Amen.
Do You Accept God’s Gifts? “The Power of the Sacraments”, session 3 of “Following Christ” this past Tuesday, explained to us how the Sacraments of Reconciliation and the Eucharist are visible signs of God’s invisible Grace and are free, undeserved gifts from God. Through them, we are restored to intimate friendship with God and brought to communion with him and each other. Lord Jesus, help us to allow Your Grace to strengthen us so we may respond to the call to be Children of God.
