St. Mary’s-Stony Hill hosts Caritas Chamber Chorale in Grace for the Wayfarer For the benefit of the Adorno Fathers’ African Mission
Caritas Chamber Chorale, directed by Barbara Sanderman, will present Grace for the Wayfarer, a Lenten concert of sacred a cappella choral music, on Sunday, April 6, 2025, here at 3pm at St. Mary’s Church – Stony Hill, Watchung, NJ. All are invited. Through sacred song, Grace for the Wayfarer reveals the compassion, mercy, and astonishing hope free to all in Christ's message and sacrifice.
The program features a wide variety of sacred a cappella choral music from Renaissance motets to folk tune arrangements and contemporary choral works. A special feature will be the premiere of Caritas Composer in Residence Wayne Dietterick’s As though of God. The concert is free and open to the public. A freewill offering, in its entirety, benefits the Adorno Fathers’ African Mission in Goma, Democratic Republic of Congo. Recent violence has compounded the needs of the people in this extremely poor area of the world.
The concert will also be presented on Friday, April 4, 2025, at 7:00 pm, at St. John’s Church, 587 Springfield Ave., Summit, NJ and on Saturday, April 5, 2025, at 7:30 pm at St. Mark’s Church, 215 Crescent Parkway, Sea Girt, NJ.
